Our Birthday Star Caden!

We have been so blessed to have Caden in our lives and are so excited to celebrate his third birthday with him today. He got to open some presents from his Grandma & Grandpa Brooksby today and was so happy about his new car and swim gear. We are having a tire party for him on Saturday with family. I was tagged by Vickie a while ago and decided to use it for Caden. Hope you enjoy learning a few fun things about him. Happy Birthday Caden!

A - Attached or single? Attached....to his Lamby
B - Best friend? Lamby & his fishy Five
C - Cake or pie? Cake (As long as it's shaped like a tire)
D - Day of choice? Friday night, cause daddy doesn't have to work and we play all weekend!
E - Essential item? MILK-lots of milk!!
F - Favorite color? Blue hands down! I would say purple (he calls pink) is his second runner up.
G - Gummy bears or worms? As long as it's candy who cares?
H - Hometown? Born in California
I - Indulgences? Chocolate, "Wemonade", Cold Stone Ice-cream, Pancakes, Powdered Doughnuts
J - January or July? July-He can play digger in the dirt and swim, two of his favorite things. Wasn't too fond of the cold this year. He's a Cali boy!
K - Kids? He would like a sibling...working on it :0)
L - Life isn't complete without? Tires, Cars, Trucks, Diggers, Trains...that about sums up the world through Caden's eyes.
M - Marriage date? Whoa-scary! I think it's just way too soon to be thinking about that!
N - Number of brothers and sisters? If you count Lamby and Five then 2
O - Oranges or apples? Grapes
P - Phobias or fears? Pirates of the Carabean ride, Scary Bunnies, Loud Laughing, poky's (cactus) and the dark
Q - Quote? "Life is a Highway, I wanna ride it!"
R - Reason to smile? Waking up to the "trash can" truck picking up our garbage
T - Tag five: Carrie, Bonnie, Susan, Michelle, Jamie
U - Unknown fact about him? Caden loves eating "Trees" (Broccoli). When he was a baby we had a hard time getting him to eat any baby food other than green veggies.
W - Worst habit? Picking his nose and eating it. In his words "Mmmm, it's liscious, it tastes like butter."
X - X-ray or ultrasound? X-Ray, I don't think he likes ultrasounds too much. They weren't able to determine his sex on the ultrasound before he was born. I am pretty sure he was too wiggly for the doctor to be able to tell for sure. He loves the letter x too, so it must be x-ray.
Y - Your favorite food? "Donalds" Nuggets & Hamburgers
Z - Zodiac sign? Taurus, sign of the bull

A Painters Dream Come True!

Clean crisp lines are something I have desperately longed for in my wall painting dreams! As you can see in exhibit #1 my dreams have come true....Thanks to Frog Tape. Yes, it does exactly what you would think the blue tape should do.....actually keeps the paint from bleeding. We are in the process of painting our ceilings white-OOOOh, Aughhhhh! This is the final result. We left it on just till barely dry, peeled off & Voila-beautiful! The only parts there were any flaws were parts where we didn't get the tape close enough or where the walls were extra curved. We believe Frog Tape is the way to go and isn't much more money than its competitor, the big blue flop. If you enlarge it looks like we missed a long spot along the edges but those are weird glitches from the camera or something.

Random Family Fun...

Caden's cousin Brynn's Birthday cake was just too yummy to wait for! Luckily I was the only one to catch them going for it full force or the rest of her birthday guests might not have enjoyed their cake so much.

Audrey's just too cute with her little pigtails and preppy shirt!

Caden had fun painting a "broken truck" (red picture on left) using Kool-aid paints. It looked awesome and smelled luscious too!

We finally got Guitar Hero so that we can give into our addictions! Summer was testing it out for us. She is for sure a rocker chic!!!

Caden has been blooming into a rock star as well. He didn't like the big guitar because he is "too wittoe". He decided this one is just right and loves to play nonstop. He even holds it up for star power! He's our favorite little musician!

Five

Our FHE this week was kind of a flop...Never had that before, of course :) So we decided to bag it and go to the pet store. Since it's next to impossible to leave the pet store pet-less when you take a very smooth talking 2 year old with you. I guess we're just suckers, but either way we came home with "5"...not 5 fish, but the name Caden designated for his new Blue fish (Stick out your tongue after the B sound in blue to pronounce it his way). Out of the 250-ish Beta's Pet Smart carries Caden managed to pick the most pathetic, sickly half-dead looking one there. We are really hoping "5" doesn't decide to swim "upside down" like most of our fish usually do. We are also hoping he lasts more than "5" days. I am finding myself thinking that five is such a fitting name in addition to the above mentioned. Precisely every "5"minutes Caden demands that we look at our poor fish....need I mention every time I have seen him him he is slowly treading in the corner doing absolutely nothing. Caden woke up this morning like a ray of sunshine (extremely rare occurance) to run in faster than a cheetah just to turn on the lights and "wake-up" 5. So endearing, we love 5 and Caden!

So as a little plug for myself, we weren't sure what we were doing next year as far as preschool goes till a little late in the registration game. But, I have decided to teach one class next year and still have 2 girl openings. If anyone happens to know anyone looking for a preschool for their daughter here are some pictures of what it looks like. Feel free to give out my contact info. for further details.
